During your initial cosmetic consultation, Dr. Leah Divito will determine if clear aligner therapy is right for you. First, she'll examine your oral health to check for gaps and crowding, and ensure your gums are healthy enough for treatment. You’ll also go over your smile goals with your doctor and decide on a treatment plan that fits your needs and lifestyle.
Dr. Leah Divito will then create a model of your bite with digital imaging technology or traditional molds. Once those are complete, Dr. Leah Divito will make any necessary adjustments before sending them off to our trusted dental lab where they will custom craft your first few sets of aligners.
Once we receive your clear aligners, you’ll return to the office, where Dr. Leah Divito will check to ensure they fit just right, and make any needed adjustments. She will provide you detailed instructions about how to wear your new aligners. Most patients will wear each set for 2 weeks, and between 20-22 hours per day. Every 6 weeks or so, you’ll return to our office to pick up your next several sets of aligners and to ensure your smile is making the proper progress.
Invisalign represents a significant investment, but most patients find it to be well worth the cost. The benefits of Invisalign go beyond just straightening your teeth. It can improve your oral health, boost your confidence, and positively impact your overall quality of life.
Invisalign aligners are custom-made using advanced technology, ensuring a comfortable fit and effective treatment. They are also highly convenient, allowing you to maintain your lifestyle without any major disruptions. Plus, the treatment time is often shorter compared to traditional braces.
However, it's important to remember that the cost of Invisalign can vary depending on individual factors like the complexity of your case and the duration of your treatment. For a more accurate estimate, consider scheduling a consultation with Dr. Divito at Luminous Dental in Hudson, OH.
Maintaining good oral hygiene is essential when using clear aligners. Here are some steps on how to clean your Invisalign or other clear aligners:
Remember, clean aligners are key to a healthy and beautiful smile!
Clear aligners and braces both have their own advantages, and the choice between the two often depends on the individual's needs and lifestyle.
Clear aligners, such as Invisalign, offer several benefits over traditional braces. They are virtually invisible, making them a popular choice for adults and teens who may be self-conscious about wearing braces. They are also removable, allowing you to eat and drink whatever you want without worrying about food getting stuck. Plus, oral hygiene is much easier to maintain with clear aligners as you can simply take them out to brush and floss.
However, braces may be a more suitable option for complex dental issues as they can exert more force than clear aligners. It's advisable to consult with a professional, like Dr. Divito, who can assess your situation and recommend the best treatment for you.
Absolutely! Clear aligners, like Invisalign, have revolutionized the world of orthodontics, offering a highly effective solution to correct various dental issues. They work by applying consistent, gentle pressure to gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. The aligners are custom-made for each patient, based on a detailed 3D scan of your teeth. This ensures a perfect fit and effective treatment.
However, the success of clear aligners largely depends on the patient's commitment. They must be worn for approximately 20-22 hours a day, only being removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing your teeth. Regular check-ups with your orthodontist, like Dr. Leah Divito at Luminous Dental, are also crucial to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments.
The cost of clear aligners can vary from patient to patient. A variety of factors, like the aligner brand you use and the insurance you have can affect the cost of your treatment. To find out how much you’ll pay for clear aligner therapy, schedule a consultation with your Hudson dentist today!
While traditional braces rely on metal or ceramic brackets that are secured to each individual tooth and connected by metal wires, clear aligners gently and discreetly shift your teeth with barely noticeable plastic trays called aligners. Patients also find that clear aligners to be more comfortable than traditional braces, because there are no sharp points to cause irritation or discomfort. Plus, clear aligners are easily removable so you can quickly take them out for meals, photos, and other functions, and place them back in at any time. However, clear aligners aren’t right for everyone. If you’re struggling with more complex issues like a malpositioned jaw or severely misaligned bite, braces are a more versatile and powerful type of orthodontic treatment.
Yes! All aligners are made of BPA-free, medical-grade clear plastic for your comfort and continued health and well being.
While the length of treatment can vary based on each patient’s individual needs, clear aligner therapy can often provide quicker results than traditional braces. Because the aligners push on all teeth, instead of pulling or pushing on each tooth individually like with traditional braces, they can dramatically, but gently, shift your teeth faster. However, to achieve the results you’re looking for in the least time possible, it’s important to follow your dentist’s instructions for wearing your custom-made clear aligners.
Clear aligners utilize a series of custom-crafted aligners that gradually straighten your teeth over time. Each aligner tray is worn for about two weeks, and will gently shift your teeth closer to their ideal placement. Depending on the severity of the misalignment, treatment can take anywhere from several months up to two years, though most patients wear their clear aligners for about a year.
